My experience dying on ayahuasca.

Okay, I did two ceremonies back to back, I will share for now just the first one, that I did with my friend. We spend the whole day preparing ourselves emotionally, meditating. In the evening we arrive in this hut in the woods in the mountains in Colombia, with no walls, we are the only two foreigners. It’s very down to earth and very beautiful. I am terrified and shaking already since the day before lol. But they were so welcoming it took my fear away. Right away there was a girl with huge eyes telling me this is the best gift anyone can give to themselves. The shaman “taita” and his family from the amazon look very peaceful and are playing soft music. They tell us the history of the medicine, how it was passed down from their ancestors for thousands of years. We take some rapé (sacred tobacco that they blow into your nose) that calms us. But of course I am still half-panicking and half-planning my escape.

After a few hours, they announce the ceremony is starting now. They say, we will all take one cup of medicine. If after 40 minutes we want more, we take more. They say definitely we will throw up. So, I have this idea that one cup will not be a lot. And I calm down a little bit and take my medicine. After taking the medicine everyone is sitting in a circle, or laying down on their sleeping bags, staring at the fire in the center. Only 20 minutes pass and of course I am the first human to go to throw up. I go outside, climb a little hill and throw up. Everything is fine and dandy. So I go to…
